All the CC models? White vs. Yellow?

I am newer to CC and shopping now.
Confused about all the model numbers and need your help please.

Can someone write down a summary of model numbers going back from the current models to 50 yrs ago?

Is there a list out there showing all the model numbers?

I am coming across all these models: 109, 129, 147, 982, 1450, 1650, 1872, 2165, 2185, 3225, SLT1554, etc.. how is a 186X different from a 1641?
Why are some all yellow, some with a white front hood cover <- what do these numbers and colors tell us?

Budget is $500 - $1200 .. in MN

I am interested in the Garden tractors or better ..something maybe able to plow or blow snow, and till... not lawn tractors
Thank you all!

I for one, am not going to type up a list.... 50 years of tractors is a long list. It's kind of like making a list of every car GM made for 50 years.

Order the book 50 Years of Cub Cadet by Oscar Will III. In that book, you will get the list, along with years made, standard equipment and options for every single model listed by series.

Tractors are seldom listed by their year. You have to know the series, or look them up. Remember, it's a tractor not a car. Year is really irrelevant other than it tells when it was built. I've seen 30 year old tractors in better shape than 5 year old ones. Age is not necessarily a bad thing.

That's awesome advice! thanks
