54" GT Deck blades ?
 

Hi,

Just put a refurbished 54" deck on my Cyclops.

I'm curious to what others have found is the best blades to use.
The OEM #759-3820, Stens hi-lift, Gator etc. ?

I have Gator mulching blades on mine (3rd season I believe? maybe 2nd...) and while they mulch leaves and such in the fall great, they don't have enough lift for me when grass gets thick and tall. My next set I think I'm going to go back to regular blades.

I've never seen anything wrong with the OEM blades except the price. For replacements I have been buying Oregon blades and they hold their edge well.

Are those what you use on your 54" GT deck? Never hurts to have an extra set of good blades around :beerchug:

I have a 48". I used these on the 54" that's at my Grandmother's house. I did try it out when I put them on. The cut nice! My uncle uses it over there. He's very hard on stuff. I will see how they are holding up soon.

I am going to order a set for the 48 soon. I'm still rotating through the 3 sets I got with the tractor.

I've got Oregon Gators on mine as well and I've been happy with them.

Here's a pic of the label that was on them. And one of them installed.

I buy Oregon mulching Gator blades, for my 50C and bend the tips ups like those you linked.

It's the best of both worlds, mulching and the additional lift needed to throw out like regular blades. :beerchug:
