This is my first post to OCC.
A couple years ago someone had me remove a CCC 682 from their garage.
The price was great, FREE for the taking. The KT 17 series I engine was dead.
From what I have read the engine was not worth putting a lot of money into.
Three weeks ago I got a Harbor Freight 22 HP V twin. I've read a lot of reviews.
Some don't agree with using the Honda clones but the the price was better than replacing with a Koehler, Briggs,, or Honda, especially since I knew very little about the rest of the tractor. With the help of a Honda adaptor from Small engine warehouse, some modifications to the mounting plate and new donuts that I made from an old conveyor belt it is now puttering around my property like a new one.
I found a lot of help reading threads from OCC.
Time will tell if this was a good idea.

So was the old KT running when parked or did it break a rod?
