Knee high by the 4th of July.
 

Most farmers around here will be lucky if the corn is ankle high by the 4th. All the rain and cold temps at night really seem to be hurting the corn this year, we've had some pretty serious rain and alot of flooding in the area. How's the corn doing in your area?

That's a pretty old saying. Corn here is usually to the waist by the fourth or higher.
I'm in a pretty small pocket of too dry here. Everything looks good here yet.

I am about 2.5-3 hours west of Tim and we too have had cooler temps and a great deal of rain. The sweet corn is about ready. The field corn, however, is behind in nearly 50% of the local fields. Beans are a popular crop this year.

In SW Michigan it has been dry. Just to the north (maybe a little more than 50 miles) they had some serious flooding. The corn looks fairly good and most of it will be knee high. Been a weird year for weather so far though! :beerchug:

Here in upstate NY near the Finger Lakes region, the corn is only about 6 -8 inches. Cold and rainy? Yep, rained again yesterday and it was 44 degrees here last night!

Been a wet spring here too. The corn behind my house got planted before the rains and it's nearly shoulder high but a lot of corn around here is only about 8" where it's not flooded out. Some farmers have replanted the same fields 3 times.

North-Western Illinois here, and for the weather we've had, it sure is poppin up pretty good. Most is waist high or higher already.

Well it was too wet for longer than usual, but we got planted about mid May then it turned off dry and what rain we did get was spotty as hell with guys getting 3/4-1" on one side of the field and nothing on the other side.
I've seen bean fields looking normal and others 30% emerged because of cold weather and lack of rain.
Now last week in the thumb region, they got flooded and heavy rains.
Ain't nothing normal this year, with few grapes on the vine and fewer apples.
We are north west of Toledo Oh. maybe 40 miles.

Central NC its about 8-10' and tassling. Ears on mine emerged last week. I imagine down ACecils way the ears are close to being made, they run about 2 weeks ahead of us. I always split my nitrogen. I had to put it extra heavy in places where it drowned due to all the rain. I got stuck twice spraying weeds. One near by farmer sprayed more nitrogen on his about a week before it tasseled, probably the earliest he could get in without getting stuck. I used 34-0-0-11 bag and put it out when it was 4-5 feet high. I'll post some pics if I get a chance to take some. I haven't seen any great looking beans. Drive past some every day that are 6-8 weeks old and barely have a canopy, with lots of open spots.

Rain when it comes is spotty here too. I accidentally left my double barrel 12ga against the fence during a rain and one barrel was full and the other dry. :biggrin2:
