Lawn Mower or Lawn Tractor
My wife keeps calling my 1811 and my 129 Lawn Mowers when they are TRACTORS. What should I do to correct this problem????:bash:

Well You could do what the little yellow people are doing, but then we may or may not see you again, you'd either be in jail, or your wife would then kill you. Hopefully neither.
One way would be to ignore the said repeat offender, or everytime she says it wrong, you just say it right, Over and Over, and OVER. Repeat untill the following occurs. Eventually she will want you to shut up, so she will start calling it correctly. If she screws up again, I suggest you tape yourself saying it, and just play it over and over, until the problem fixes itself. If the error keeps occuring, follow the yellow. Thanks & Welcome Cody |
You could show her the following (paraphrased from a recent post in another forum):
Rule of Thumb: "A Garden Tractor is capable of doing ground engaging work (plowing, tilling, etc.). Lawn Tractors usually have smaller wheels and frames and are more suited to mowing or hauling a small trailer." That said, you're right (this conversation never happened). But wait--there's more! If you really, really want to keep peace in the family you could tell her the 1811 is a lawn mower but the 129 is a tractor. Welcome to OCC from a fellow Mainer! :American Flag 1: |
first of all they are GARDEN tractors... the name itself is 100X better than "lawn" anything. My wife used to call mine "mowers" until I started refering all of her favorite stuff as gibberish and the such... she caught on eventually. Now she doesn't even say garden tractors, she says "his cubs..." :)

I had the same problem myself once....ONCE. I have found that you cannot put an old head on young shoulders. Most people have to experience the difference to know the difference. So, I got on my CC commercial 48" Zero which is good for only one thing.....mowing, hence it is a lawnmower and I drove over her. While she was still down, I got on my 123, which already has the 42" snow blower attachment with hydraulic lift and I drove over her with that.....BTW, the hydraulic lift is great for raising and lowering the blower to various minute depths for inflicting multiple degrees of pain!!! Then I said, "Now that you have experienced the difference first hand.....DON'T FORGET IT WOMAN!!!". :biggrin2.gif: I learned this strategy of allowing your lady to experience things using all of her faculties in a super book that every guy should own and read, which is titled "Keep her down, Keep her down: A Man's Guide to Happiness":bigthink:..............and then the fight began!!!:bash:
