Storm damage to 122
We had a severe storm that had very heavy wind and rain. I had my Cub cadet 122 under cover with several tarps and tie downs. But the wind whipped off the cover. I have the head off, and now my piston and valves are covered in water. Will it be ok?
I will dry it out the best I can. :bash2: |
Yes. After drying it off as best that you can, pour some oil over them and rotate crank on the engine several times to lubricate it up.

It will be fine, clean up the water and put some wd40 on the cylinder wall to keep it from rusting. Make sure you change the oil.

ok, thank you so much

Yes not to worry. I have a 129 that was in a flood. Took the head off, sprayed some wd and drained the crankcase and it runs fine to this day.

I live just north of Harrisburg and it barely sprinkled here. Just a little windy.
Hope you didn't have any other damage. |
