Tiller
1 Attachment(s)
Scored a tiller and gearbox on eBay for $102.50! Went and picked it up last night, all seems ok. Got to looking at the gearbox this morning and it seems the vertical shaft is bent. I'm gonna look into it more as time permits. And I need to make the stuff to adapt it to my 3 point. New pulleys and a mule drive for putting it on my 1812. :biggrin2:

Nice, I just picked one up from a buddy. Trying to make heads or tails of what I need to make it work with my 1650.

I see what looks like a bend in your picture also'
It must have been dropped or something. The main shaft is 1-1/4 diameter, would take a hell of a drop to bend that! I just got mine back together last night after a rebuild. not fun OR cheap!! Possibly one of the tubes is bent, but they are 1/4 inch wall tubes, tough stuff. Does everything turn freely?? |
Fins, I'm not sure if it's bent or not. Everything turns freely. I think the shroud is bent. There's some questionable "repairs" done to that. If it spins, it goes in the dirt. Not pretty at all, but the intention was to make a worker! Did get into the gearbox, the vertical shaft is bent. I have it over at my buddies machine shop, he's gonna make me a new one.

MI, I'm currently in your shoes. I've seen pics, of guys that have done it on here. But can't seem to get my dimensions. Guess I just need to mount it up and start guessing!

Just have a welding shop burn one out for you. No waste. |

Question for you, since you made one. The piece that bolts to the tractor, did you use 1/4" or 3/8 plate? I was thinking using 3/8". |
Good grief, no! I used 3/16". We're not working on a big machine here.....
