Cub Cadet weedeater

Picked up a non running Cub CC4065 weed eater for $20.00 for the step son. Pull start rope has been pulled out of it. Watched a U-Tube on how it comes apart. Looks like fun. Need to take 1/2 of it apart to replace the rope. This thing is a 4 stroke engine. Of course I can't get a manual from Cub but I think I have enough info to fix it unless the engine is roached. It has oil in it but it looks like chit. We'll see. Later guys. :beerchug:

My old cub weed eater made it 5yrs and then the pull cord broke, turns out the pull cord is non serviceable. I bought a new cub one but this one is fully serviceable so hopefully it lasts a while. I was looking at the 4 stroke model when i bought mine but couldn't get over how heavy it was.

Had a side gig for a long time messing with all lawn equipment and weedeaters built these days as everything else arent made to last, Gave up on weedeater and push mower repair Recently because of the hassle and throw away lifestyle everyone is into ,them expecting ultra cheap labor, and people able to pick them up so cheap these days new from the big boxes not knowing what garbage they bought as well as neglecting them with today's gas on top of it almost make it a losing battle with the cheap stuff. As always you get what you pay for as you know however amd some are worth it, stihl, echo, real Husky, etc.

My neighbor gave me a very new Troy built 4 cycle eater with the "I'm lazy and require an electric start for my stupid weedeater option" that lasted one summer and never ran again. After tearing into it and realizing how awful it was made I realized again why I don't muck with them anymore. All I have to say is good luck Sam, let me know when you or your step son get so aggravated you end beating it on the ground. It might run for a while but beware, it won't next season. But I digress, I am hopeful it will be a good buy and last for you guys. It's only 20 bones so why not.

I have a Redmax that fell off the back of a landscapers trailer, still using it 7 years later.
The pull cord broke last year, good thing I had a spare.

My weed eater/ brush cutter is a 2008 Sthil FS90. I'm tired of letting him borrow it. If I can get this POS Cub made in Mex He Co going for cheap I'll be happy. If not I will toss it in the trash.

That fs90 you have Sam is that a four stroke?? It should be, of course it still requires modded gas, but if you ever have the plastics off it will have a rocker box to Dr and overhead valves...I have the same power head hanging from my ceiling, (actually a couple) looking for a few straight shafts .....That's a good piece of equipment...I wouldn't want to borrow it out either....

Stihl calls them 4mix engines

Let me say this....I have never had any "redmax" stuff but....Those are Zenoah engines and i have flown a lot of those on model airplanes...Some of the best engines in the hobby ....Jerry

Older red max was Komatsu (good stuff) and new red max is husquvarna. Not sure when the transition happened.
