Video of 882 Diesel: Up and running, thanks everyone!
Thanks everyone for all the great ideas, tips and advice. The 882 is becoming really reliable. Once I have the mower deck refurbished, I think it will be my frontline mower. Here's a quick video clip of it starting and running.

EXTREMELY jealous...I wish mine ran right now. Hopefully by the end of next week she will be rollin some smoke. Ive got to get it ready for a huge show here in NC.

What all does she need to run?
In the end, all mine needed was a starter, throttle cable and someone to talk sweet to her. |
I burnt the starter up on it before Christmas. I finally got off my lazy butt and got working on it about 3 weeks ago. I tore all the sheet metal off of it, removed the engine and drive shaft to do some TLC on everything. She has been used and abused all 2200 hrs and finally im here to take care of her. Ive got everything i need (finally) to get it back together, so now it just needs me and some motivation and a little bit of time. I got the reduction starter like was suggested on here and got the hole drilled 2 days ago. I believe ill start on it Monday.
Did you put the muffler back on it or is it straight piped? |
Good deal, the starter upgrade will really get it cranking over nice.
For now, I took the big old pipe that came with it, cut about 8 inches out of the middle and welded it back together. Then I cut off the tip at a nice angle and painted the whole shebang black. Works for now. I priced out the pieces to put the muffler back stock and it was around $400. :BangPC: |
When are we going to get another resto vid?? :biggrin2.gif:
|
Workin' on it.
I've collected all the replacement parts needed except for one pulley, but I can get by without it for now. The next hurdle is to get my HVLP gun set up so I can spray some IH white on the deck. :biggrin2.gif: |
