New member, first Cub Cadet
Hello, I am a new member from New York State. We will be closing on our first house with 2 acres in a few weeks and were in need of a riding mower. I refuse to buy a cheapo lowes mower and luckily my father in law acquired a 107 and gave it to us. It has an original snow thrower and 42 in deck and 10hp Kohler. So I will be in the process of getting it up to snuff by the time the grass starts to grow. This summer will be maintenance/necessary stuff mostly and then cosmetic improvements over next winter.
Since my dad no longer has a dairy farm and Im not helping there as much I am hoping to get a little bit of a big tractor feeling from the 107 lol. He also has an Ingersol 4016 which is a nice garden tractor too but has had its fair share of issues. I cant believe how beefy this little guy is and am really excited to get using it! I will make a thread with pics in the appropriate section once I get started. Thanks! Nate |
Welcome to OCC!
Lots of info here, you sound just like most enthusiasts , you will fit right in. Remember, we don't answer stupid questions, ( stupid questions are the ones people are afraid to ask):biggrin2: |
Welcome to OCC!
You sound like an enthusiast :beerchug: |
Welcome. I agree these old machines were built to last. Beware you have the beginnings of the fever. Only calmed down by another machine.

Agreed, welcome. You will soon have one cub for each of the 4 seasons.......................and then maybe some more. And heck you live in NY so there's no reason why you shouldn't be getting more right now!! Good luck with it and ask questions, we are here to help.

Thanks!! I love having another "toy" to research and learn about. Luckily since we are buying a house I wont have any money to spend on others haha. Though I would like a large, wide frame at some point. The mower deck is my first priority. Im piecing some needed parts from a local dealer. The snow thrower needs some TLC but luckily we have an atv with a plow. Its nice having something that can be a tool and a hobby at the same time. We have no money into it yet. It has had a mediocre repaint at some point. Heres a terrible, blurry pic:
http://i689.photobucket.com/albums/v...21_1638171.jpg Im rushing to get my truck put back together before we move because it will be needed. Still have the front end apart doing coil springs, ball joints etc. Getting it on the road is my #1 priority. Hope a pic of that isnt frowned upon: http://i689.photobucket.com/albums/v...06_1217401.jpg |
Welcome! Looks like a nice 107!! The tractor will keep right up with that atv, especially since it's equipped with a thrower! The Ford truck looks pretty good, and not ate up from all the winter salt.
Hope to see more of the 107! Congrats! |
Welcome, lot of information on this site. They are a blast to work on and operate. Just finished restoring a 102 that came from New York originally
|
Thanks! I will start a thread on the 107 once I can get some good pictures taken.
The truck was actually pretty rough and has taken a lot of work. Im gonna have to put the rusty box back on temporarily. It was pretty close to being not savable though. But with only 81000 miles, 300ci straight six, front and rear limited slip axles and red interior I couldnt leave it lol. |

Welcome to OCC. One of the all time best pickups I've owned was a 95 F-150 with a 351 never had any problems with it short of gas mileage. :beerchug:
