782D temperature gauge not working.
The temperature gauge on my 782D is not working. I have removed the the wire on the sensor terminal on engine head and grounded it. Nothing moves.
I suspect the gauge is bad. Brian Dan US. Army Retired :American Flag 1: |
A good sensor is about $15, I'd start there.

If it's a bad gauge I'd look at getting an aftermarket gauge since the oem's are pricey.

...and doesn't have numbers on it. I'm thinking about getting a new one for mine that actually has numbers on it.

Matt if you get a replacement post what one you purchased I'm trying to decide on one that would fit/look good. There's a few times I've mowed in the evening and started to run out of light so I'm also wanting one that lights up.

I think the mech oil pressure gauge is like $12. Scott |
Would the gauge be 2in or 2 1/16?

2" I believe and lighted. The sensor that comes with the temp gauge is weak and will break, I had to replace mine with a heavy duty from NAPA....but hey for a $18 guage..... Scott |
I'd like to replace the oil pressure idiot light on my 1872 with a gauge. Do I also need to replace the sender?
Thanks |

Yes, better to go mechanical though. Scott |
