First pass for the storm

I'm pretty sure that I was the only kid on my block out there doing any kind of snow removal right now because it is still extreme conditions out there. The wind is howling, and the snow is coming horizontal. Still, if you don't "plow with the storm", you pay for it later on. At least that's the way I feel.
Maybe a cab would be nice though.:bigthink:

I try to go out once we get to about 6 inches. Then it's deep enough to keep the blower loaded, but still be able to maneuver where I need to.

Only way to deal with a big storm is to keep after it or you will be screwed, ask me how I know. :beerchug:

A full face helmet works great if you don't have a cab. You stay nice and warm :beerchug:

I cleared the driveway twice today, once around 8a then again around 2p, about 12" each time. I think I need a snowblower. 12" is rough with a blade, especially the second 12". I will probably go out again once we get the kids in bed.

If it starts getting deep, I'll go do a half butt job just to clear some of it off, then wait till it quits and do a good clean up job.

I used my front blade once in the snow. For me, the QA42 works much better.

The front blade does work great in dirt though :biggrin2:

Been out three times so far today blowing about 5" each time. Also spent about a hour in the shop when the fuel pump quit. Lucky I had a new electric on the shelf. The M18 likes her gas!

Sounds like you New York guys got hammered compared to Mass. I think we ended with just about of foot, but it was pretty wet snow. We had some pretty bad wind, but it wasn't the storm that everyone expected, at least not here. The blade worked perfect for me here. My QA42 is not ready for service yet, but it will go on my 1200(ish) next year. I've got a walk-behind Cub Cadet 1132 SWE with a cab as well, but I might as well cover all the bases with the QA42. :beerchug:

Every time I use a snowblower I recall the couple of times in my career when I've gathered up people's finger from their snowblowers to bring to the ER.
