782 PTO replacement question

Now that the command is in the 782, I've put a few hours on it now and I have to say MUCH better than that old tired KT-17. I used the PTO off the KT and it's safe to say it's on its last leg so I'm looking into a new replacement.

I want to put a 6" on it instead of the stock smaller one. It would definitely drive the deck quicker which is what I'm shooting for. Do you all think the deck could take the extra RPM's? It's a 44 inch if that's going to make a difference but I plan on finding a nice 50 for it. I also know the belt size will need to be i creased to fit the larger PTO

Any and all opinions are welcome. Good or bad. Thanks!

Get in touch with these guys. https://xtremeope.com/ Ask for Jason :beerchug:

Edit: This should be a bolt on replacement for the stock OEM clutch.

IMHO....you should have no issues.......IF.......all the bearings, pulley's are in good shape, to include the Mule Drive.

They all seem to be good but I'm not opposed to replacing them. Do you think the added speed would help in the performance of the deck?

I have looked at these a little bit. Does this use the stock mounting cage? Or is a whole new unit in itself?

Seems all the newer equipment these days are spinning their decks much faster than equipment of the 1990's and earlier. There has to be a reason for this. :bigthink:

That was pretty much my thinking on the matter lol. Just wondering if anyone has done it with the 44 and 50 to this point. Didn't know if by design it just wouldn't get much better or not

The link for the one I posted is a direct replacement with the stock size pulley. If you want to go to the larger pulley let me know and I'll find out what you need.

wouldn't mind going with a larger pulley to be honest. Do they make them in a 1" shafts so I don't need to use the sleeve?

Yep, I'm doing pretty much the same thing for me 1864. I'm putting a CH22 in it and the engine has a 1" shaft so I'm going to use an Xtreme clutch for a 2185. I'll be back with the numbers.
