Wondering about 3 turn steering
Hi, I was wondering what cub models held the 3 turn steering boxes. I read that you can put them in 149 or similar models. Is that true?
Thanks |
1811 and similar models had the 3 turn box, yes it will fit in your 149.

Do you need a 3 turn box to get the full range out of a super steer axle Tim??

I wanna say the arm travel between a 2-turn & 3-turn steering box is the same. The real benefit comes from less force needed by you to turn the steering wheel.
Many guys have said it's like having power steering. Man, that would be awesome. :Woo: |
I have two 100's with a 3 turn in them, replaced at the dealership, it does take less effort.
I will see if the travel is different from the two and post pics later. I am curious also... |
Alright then, I would like to see if it makes a difference in steering too.
|
I have a 3 turn column on my 127, and 2 on the rest of my tractors. Outside of being longer (steering wheel sits up higher), it works just the same as the 2 turn. I don't notice much of a difference in effort from the 3 turn to a 2 turn that's properly lubricated.

I do like my 1811's with the 3 turn steering. But I added the steering wheel spinner. Because it takes 50% more motion to make a turn. Let us know what you do.

In my experience it makes a great deal of difference when I have the snow thrower mounted. That is until I hung 160 lbs. of steel off the back.
