Saved a 147
Well I somehow managed to win a Cub 147 at a local auction this past weekend. Truth is 2 others were bidding against me and I had found out they were going to strip it and make a puller out of it. Now don't get me wrong I don't mind pullers and enjoy watching the sport, but when it might involve a hard to find in decent shape 147 with all the correct parts including a rear lift I just can't let it happen. Once Spring comes around I'll start making a list of what needs to be done to clean up some previous owner modifications (which includes a house light switch wired to something). Obviously a new wiring harness will be needed. Somehow a 50" deck from a quietline series GT is underneath. The correct 48" deck would have been nice. I'll get around to pics as soon as this deep freeze cold weather breaks.

I know it is cold, but pics are necessary or we will think that you are pulling our shmegeggie :biggrin2:
Nice save though... |
Good save! Those guys would've been nuts to make that 147 hydro a puller.

Nice save, nice complete 147s are getting harder to find.

Good save!!
My 126 was on the same road to destruction, in fact, it had already been victim to some dismemberment and mods. Carry on!! |
147's are great; love mine. Great job saving it from those pulling clowns. :beerchug:

Great save. Cadets are just like the antique tractor hobby, some really aren't worth the time and money to save--those are the ones that should be parts donors and pullers.

Is there supposed to be a pull switch on the left side of the steering tower? http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/b...psvcg2jy1a.jpg http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/b...psmjzqgagw.jpg |
Looks good to me! :beerchug:
Wonder why somebody removed the top engine shield? |
