Bought myself a early Christmas present! :beerchug:
Thanks to Duke Carpenter aka Methos for a good deal on it and and thanks to Fastenal for bringing it to me!
Finally got a minute to put it on the tractor.. Now I just gotta find a dry day and a few minutes to shine it up!
I think it's a Brinly PP-1200...:bigthink:. someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Plow is in great shape... I don't think it's been used hardly at all.. No wear on the wing or the share at all... I can't wait to try it out!:biggrin2::biggrin2:

Nice score! What is it mounted to? I think you'll decide those turfs aren't a good plow tire.....

The "wing" is called a moldboard. Most all wear on a plow occurs on the share. Moldboards don't wear very fast at all. Especially on these little plows because most people just don't plow very much with them. Maybe a day or two a year (acre or 2) if they go to plow days. :beerchug:

Looks like the 982 he picked up to me...

Looks great Jay! That thing looks new because it was pulled behind a John Deere X495.:biggrin2: Now you'll just have to plan on bringing it up to Vince's SC plow day this spring to test it out.:beerchug:

Yep, that's that yellow 982.

{SIGH} I want one. :Cry1:

Yes guys... you are all correct... The plow is mounted on the Yellow 982 or 986... (however you want to call it) that I acquired over the summer. I really don't think anything has ever been mounted to the hitch! The lift arms and balls in the arms are extremely tight... Don't know much history on the tractor but it appears all it has ever done is mow grass!:beerchug:

Jon.... I agree... the turf tires aren't going to work out... I would love to have some 23 degree Firestones but I will have to save my pennies for a little while.. they are proud of them!:bash2:

Todd... Duke told me about pulling the plow behind the "off brand"!:beerchug: I would love to try and make that plow day in SC... let me know when and where!:biggrin2:

Bamafan.... those plows are decently easy to find... all I did was put a want ad on here and bam I had several replies!:beerchug:

Had a few minutes to "play" with the Brinly plow and the 982!:biggrin2:
With nothing more than some water in the turf tires and a few adjustments we got her plowing pretty good! With a little bit more fine tuning and a little bit more traction I think we will have the plow throwing almost perfect.. The dirt was pretty wet and the turfs were limiting my traction and making it hard to maintain a constant ground speed. All in all I was very impressed with the traction of the turf tires in dirt! I have never plowed with anything other than ag tires.. I really thought moldboard plowing would be near impossible with turfs... but I was wrong!:beerchug:

I stopped and took a couple of pictures because the Onan got a little thirsty and needed a drink of gasoline!!:biggrin2::biggrin2: With the tractor tilted over sideways a few degrees the fuel pump started sucking air!:beerchug:

Dad is an old school farmer... he has turned more land in his lifetime than anybody I know... He was very helpful in making adjustments to the plow. He and I both had a lot of fun "playing" in the dirt!:beerchug::beerchug:
