Snow plow

I have heard of guys taking off those little pads and welding pipe onto the bottom of there snowblade. I sort of understand why but how do you do it is there a certain spot to weld it? Anyone got pictures? Does it really work?

To float on your gravel driveway where those little pads would dig in and make little ruts and scrape the gravel and snow

Most times when there's snow to push, the gravel is froze, so there shouldn't be any "ruts" left...

exactly, i have a gravel driveway and have no such issue. i think the pipe would lead to the plow wanting to float on top of the snow which wouldn't be very effective when plowing.

I thought the same thing about it wanting to float thanks fellas
