I learned quite a bit

I spent about 3hrs off and on yesterday reading different posts. I think I read one where a QA42A U1111 snow "thrower" will work on my 1440 . (unless it was "wish thinking" on my part) I don't feel too concerned with my "battery light" problem after reading responses to my question, so I'm thinking about "pulling the trigger" and picking up a snow thrower. (The two stage "blowers" seem like they'd be pretty heavy for and "old fart" to wrestle around to install and lift once installed) I picked up a "blade" chains and weights on craigslist before I knew anything about the correct ones. I think it's for a newer MTD model cub. I adapted it to work, , the chains were too small, and the weights only have two mounting holes.( The numbers on the blade are 190-674-100 2098) I will adapt the wheel weight, and hopefully find bigger chains. (or add on to the ones I have, AKA use two small sets to make one the right length)

I do believe most all of us have done that a time or two. Buying something that almost fits but not quite. With all the models out there and the interchangeability of certain parts and attachments it is hard to remember what does and does not work on our model. Yes those two stage blowers are a brute to move around. At my age (74) I make liberal use of a floor jack and 2X4 props so I do not have to try and lift the blower.
