Some work on the 2182

My 2182 needed new wiring, rear end work, and some cosmetic things attended to so I got it up on the lift and got started. Removed the battery mount to get some paint cause PO let a battery freeze and leaked all over it.
It has a small leak in a hydrolic line by the pump that needs attention.
SGT braces and rear tube drain holes will be after that.
Had to see what the true powers looked like on it also :)
I will paint them white before leaving the rears on.

Thanks to Sam for the rewiring diagram and hints on cyclops tractors!

Now pics so it happens:

Looks like fun! Somedays I wish I had a lift table, well only the days I'm working on lawnmowers, ATV's, golf carts...:biggrin2:

Been there, done that. One step at a time.:beerchug:

Never as easy as you think

Removed the wiring from front of the tractor, that was easy. Started pulling the wires out of the back, removed the seat pan and what a mess. Thought only diesels were this messy.:biggrin2:
Got over that shock and can see the trunion needs work. Thought it might be ok since the tractor only has 500hrs. No such luck.
Oh well it's relaxing for me so I'll keep pushing on :beerchug:

Here is the Mr Gasket fuel pump option from CCC. Was worth at least 5hp :biggrin2:
PO moved it to the back plate to keep it from getting hit while backing up.:biggrin2:
I noticed there was two seat switches that won't be used again , I now feel twice as unsafe. :biggrin2:

Looking good Terry. You'll have her cleaned up and all the electrical demons out of her for good.:beerchug:

Looks like a trip to the pressure washer is in order. Love the fuel pump PO mod, that's a new one.

You've been busy, Terry!

Not much progress today. Little wiring testing which I won't get into, ordered rear gaskets, seals, and a new tunnel cover. Local IH/cub dealer beat the price online on all items.
Called around for side panels but not many cyclopes in my neck of the woods
I know I will have to throw them on the water jet to cut the extra vents and exhaust hole but I can't find any.
Does anybody know all the cyclops numbers? I know a few but a complete list would help when I call Patton.

J-Mech 11-22-2016 09:35 PM

Good work so far Terry!

Shouldn't matter on model number. Patton know what a Cyclops is, and I'm certain any of them will work, once you put it on the water jet.
