My brief Cub Story
4 Attachment(s)
Well, it all started when our family decided to make a garden this year. That means working up soil, so I got a rear tine tiller. It works fine but beats a body up. So I decided to try to find a garden tractor with tiller. Several months of looking for a reasonably priced unit passed by but did not produce a solution. Finally, a couple months ago, I saw an add for a Cub Cadet 100 with 1a tiller and a 109 with mower for sale as a package. At this point I had no knowledge of the legendary Cub Cadets. After a bit of research I went to have a look at the pair. Neither were running, but with a boost (no batteries in them) both would fire and try to run. So I made an offer and, suddenly , was the proud owner of 2 Cub Cadets.
In an effort to fix these I went to a local scrap metal place that I knew had some old GT's and mowers, but the only thing they had in Cub Cadet was a 1450. I knew that it was quite different than my other 2, but the deal was too good to pass up, so now I have 3!
The 1450 was about what you'd expect from something in a scrap yard, but I got going on it and made it a working unit, with help from many kind people here! http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=45898
So, I took the tiller off the 100 and put it on the 1450 and it tills like crazy! I had to fix the clutch in the 100 and now it works great. The 109 needed very little, though http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...d.php?t=46474I still need to put some parts in the PTO, but it runs and drives great. The 100 is pretty loaded up and in great condition. It has fenders, wheel weights, lights, creeper, hydro lift.
