Clutch won't work: Original

Hello,
I put my original all back together today. Went to check out my clutch before I would start it. And the plates don't seem to move. I know they aren't stuck. The little teaser spring looks like it is putting the force on the plates so they won't retract. I adjusted the clevis all the way. "Till it ran out off thread" and the teaser spring still is causing the plates not to retract. I've gone through a diagram of the clutch and all the parts are were they should be. I'm stumped.
Thank you and have a nice day.,
Noah

Why was it and what did you do to it when you had it apart? I'm not sure what your expecting to move, the only thing that happens is clutch spring pressure is removed; there is nothing that pulls the plates apart. The teaser spring is there to smooth clutch engagement; just because it is putting slight pressure on the plates does not mean it will prevent the clutch from disengaging. Did you start the tractor and try it, is it not functioning while the engine is running?

When I had it apart, I had replaced the thin bearing in the collar and washers, new collar bushing, new shaft itself, measured holes and everything, Jeff drilled the holes to the measurements I gave him. double checked when I got the shaft and the holes were drilled to the measurements. (Thanks again Jeff). New teaser spring, clutch pulley bushing, shaft bearing. Basically rebuilt it. And found a picture of a diagram of the clutch assembly and put it together. Double checked and all. I double checked to make sure the transmission was in neutral started it, pushed in the clutch and the shaft just kept spinning, plates were not retracted. Clutch pushed in all the way, the clevis is adjusted to the max. It runs awesome when the clutch isn't pushed in, but when I push the clutch in, it sounds like it's under load. .
Sorry if I wasn't clear on that,
Thank you

No need to be sorry, I was just trying to get a clearer picture of what had/hadn't been done to try to help troubleshoot. I see in your other thread you got it fixed, glad to hear it. Great job on the restore!
