"Cub Cadet Patio"

I've been thinking about Starting another project recently, and in my internet research I have started coming across old John Deere patios. I really like these tractors, but to keep my collection pure (and the rarity of the patios) I've been thinking about a "Cub Cadet Patio". My question is, were there any "special edition" narrow frame cubs? Or what would you guys do if you were to custom build one? I was thinking a white tractor with red wheels and a red hood.

Sounds like a cool project, I really like the blue patio's. The biggest problem with the patio's is the seat, most guys buy a yellow seat and the dye it whatever color they want. If you go with red I'd suggest a metallic, solid red might look a bit plain on a white tractor.

On one of the Facebook groups, someone had found some paperwork highlighting some "alternate colored" parts for a Cadet. I believe he actually painted a tractor like one of them, too. I'm going to try and do some digging around to see if I can find something again.

They were some bland colors, compared to the JD ones, but neat nonetheless.

Thanks! In a perfect world, I would use an original. My family and friends seem to have an abundance of them and I can get them for cheap. I like the idea of the metallic paint.

The only downfall to metallic paint is that it will have to be base/clear, you can get single stage in metallic but it's really hard to spray without getting stripes in it. Depending on your skill level you may want to get the parts ready to paint and take them to a shop to have them painted.

Here we go! He painted his the Vista Green. Nice looking machine. I really like the look.

If you have Facebook, PM me and I can get you in contact with him.

You should spread the love of those Originals around. Hahah. I've been looking for one in good, original condition for about two years now.

Now that looks sharp, the pastel colors look great against the white.

A quick search brought this up, too!

(Let me know if the link works. I had to upload it to a second site, as it wouldn't upload here.)

Yea, it worked. That's too cool! This is definitely an up and coming project. I really like the blue and red

A baby-blue and white cub. Now THAT would be a sight to see. :beer2:
