Wondering what you guys think

I found this on c-list. I'm a newby here and was wondering if it's worth the 100 mile drive. I talked with owner and he won't budge on price. He did say it ran good a did cut grass before the pto went out. It's a 126. My 1450 restore is coming along and I'm kinda in the market for another one in the 100 series, to bring back to life. Cub fever is very additive :biggrin2:

Looking at the production list, it appears to be the third rarest Cadet--someone please double check that. To a collector that adds a few dollars and a bit of cool factor. It looks a little rough, better pics from multiple angles would help. If all is ready to mow other than a PTO clutch it probably isn't too bad of a buy. I'd have to go over it with a fine tooth comb before I bought it. With my luck there always seems to be something needing attention and money. Looks like the air filter is off, thats a red flag to me.

This was a silly question to ask. Just go get it, they quit making them you know.:beerchug:

I'd be more concerned about how bad the exhaust is butchered with that stack on there than a pto, the factory exhaust elbow is pricey if that one is all chopped up.

Olds you think that's a stack or something the tractor is sitting beside? I noticed it also, when I talk with the owner later today I will ask.

It looks like it has a stack to me, I'd be surprised if it doesn't.

Well, a 100 mile road trip is not a big deal in my book! It's rather a rare model as mentioned, and said to be running. I just gambled on a nice 125 with said blown engine for 300, turns out a stuck valve. He probably can get what he is asking for in my opinion. The words state "running", so I'd inquire about that one before giving the asking price.

Good luck, hope the 126 turns out good for you!

When I go look @ something that interests me, I take the asking price in my pocket so to speak.
Then look @ it and comment on, it is what I want,---- but then I
"notice" this or that is not right, or where are the missing whatevers ??
Than mention if all was there, and all good, it is worth the asking price, but given
the conditions it is worth somewhat less to me.
I rarely walk away empty handed, but never have paid an inflated price, or full price unless we both know/agree it is worth an asking price.
I don't take advantage of ppl, and on a rare occasion I have given a person more than they ask for something, just because I like the guy In see in the shaving mirror every morning, but won't be taken advantage of either.
Works for me.:beerchug:

I moved this to the "What is it worth ?" area since you asked What is it worth ? :beerchug:

Just my 2 cents $200 tops.
