Picked up a 2166 today... Yes it was heavy!

Drove about 30 minutes down the road today and brought this home. The plan is to use the CH16S in the 1862 roller I got from Sam last summer. The oil filter is the only issue I see so far. Does anyone know of a 45 or 90 degree adapter? I did a brief search and haven't come up with much.

Finally got the engine to run after putting power to the SAM. The hour meter shows 347, but the PO said the key was left on a lot. Had the valve cover off and it looks brand new inside. The frame might hold a Chinese diesel one day.:bigthink:

Here's the pics. It ain't purdy!:beerchug:

That's nice but it is missing a cylinder :biggrin2:

Put that on a go cart and do some wheelies:biggrin2:

:biggrin2: The 1662 will be for my aunt on the mountain. She don't have no stinkin grass to mow. Just needs something to push some sNOw and pull a cart around. She might break something with 2 cylinders!:biggrin2:

Probably going to be a challenging swap. I wonder if you wouldn't be better off just sticking a plow on the 2166. This one is in Saltville VA. :bigthink:

Sam, the oil filter clearance is the only problem I foresee. I will probably use the 2000 drive shaft. The wiring will be plug and play. Im not sure what I'm doing for a muffler yet. She won't need the PTO. I want her to have the power steering and lift, power angle might not happen this year, but will happen. She's not very big. I should have it out and sitting on the 1862 frame tomorrow.

Well aren't you the "good" nephew Travis?:bigthink:
That'll help keep you busy.:beerchug:

I bought a CV15 a few weeks ago that has a remote filter setup. I don't know if there is one for the horizontal engine. This one has a different sump than the other CV's I own. Ebay has some remote setups for magnum engines you might could adapt. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...ilter&_sacat=0 Is that engine a Command, Courage or something else?

Maybe one of these would work.

Edit: checked the thread size and gasket dimensions for the Kohler filter. Looks like this one will fit.

This is for a Ford or Dodge engine.
Other possibility is the short filter for a Briggs may give you enough clearance.

Edit #2: you could always cut a notch in the frame.

Yes I am!:biggrin2: Looks like the worst part is going to be polishing this rusty turd!:bigthink:

Cannon, I thought about the Magnum remote setup as I was going to sleep last night. I think I even have one from the 2072. It doesn't look like it will be necessary. It is a 1 cyl Command.

Sam, those adapters are twice what I paid for the engine!:biggrin2: Thanks for the research!:beerchug: Looks like a little cut and a few taps from the BFH and I should be good to go.:beer2:

The PTO is just for reference in case I want to add on in the future. The muffler will be a little different. I will probably cut the side panels like Sam did on Black jack.
