Those are anti rattle springs, there missing on 99% of cubs so I wouldn't worry about it.

Spring really aren't needed, don't have them on any of mine.

I just replaced my clutch on the 102 and didn't use them

Thanks everyone! I'll leave it as is. Is there a certain way the clutch needs adjusting? I got it working fine, but it only kicks the plates out halfway down,is that correct? Thanks.
