belt for spindle/blades

I realize this is an old thread, but maybe this helps someone down the line. I had trouble finding information for the belt that drives the blades for the 44A deck. The official part number is Cub Cadet 954-3004, and the belt size is 1/2 X 77.1. While that size is not readily available, a trip to my local Runnings found 1/2 X 78, and while perhaps not perfect it does seem to fit and run well. This is the same size that many belts listed as "compatible" with the actual part number are.

If my memory serves me right my 129 with the 44A deck both belts are the same size (3/8”/78”). I have the right side pulley of the deck support’s lock nut, threaded halfway and the belt is pretty tight. It would probably be more manageable with a 77” belt. Unless you’re aiming it to be as close to original that would do you just fine. International definitely had ease of maintenance in mind when designing them. Keep us updated! Cheers

That is correct. The belt tensioner should take up, the extra .90" of an inch.
