Plastic idler pulley on 46"gt deck

Anyone attempted to change the bearing on the plastic pulley?
Both top and bottom of the pulley are the same.
The back of the belt rides on the flat surface of the pulley.

Only way I can see is to cut one retaining flange off on one side.
Then fusor a new retainer on the outside of the bearing to pulley.

The retainer is made in four sections around the outside edge of the
bearing.

Usually plastic pulleys cost about the same price as you can get the bearing inside for.....

Not worth the trouble.
