Will a K241 or K-301 fit into a CC model 72 ?

I'm thinking of rebuilding the stock motor (K161) in the fall or winter and was wondering if either of my spare motors (K-241, K-301) would fit in the 72 frame during the rebuild . Any idea? Thank you, Paul

Yes, it will bolt right in.

The throttle cable will probably be way too long.

I re-powered my model 72 with a K241 from my model 100. The engine was a k301 stamped block. OCC member Merk rebuilt my engine, and it runs like bran new!!!

The throttle cable is longer on the original engine.

The starter bracket may be different. It may locate the starter in a different place than the 7 horse starter bracket.

My 72 has been running with a k301 for over 30 years, works just fine. Fits with no problems.
