Power Angle rebuild ?

I have 42 " snow blade w/power angle. The hydro cylinder leeks, can they be rebuilt if not, how hard finding a new one?

Thanks Dave

I'm sure a hydraulic shop can rebuild it for you.

New ones are NLA, but you can still find them. They are pricey, hang on to your a$$. Used ones go for too much as far as I'm concerned.

I did the cylinders on my FEL. Was pretty straighforward - the trick on the ones I had was removing and then re-installing a square wire retaining ring that held the caps on. (some might have to be cut open though, depends on your cylinder design)

The seals and orings I got from McMaster. The rods were in good shape with no scuffing (ultimately even chromed rod stock can be purchased but you would need to do the ends which would require some welding skill). But wasnt necessary for mine.

YMMV, but it was more straightforward than I feared. Do some searching and you will find some instructions and decide if its a DIY or not. If just seals and a retaining ring and DIY, might get it done for less than $20/$30.

Good luck!

The angle cylinders have to be cut open on a lathe.
Then rebuilt and welded back together.
Last on I had done cost $165
Parts were only $40 of that price
Remainder was shop & machine time.

FYI
NF hydraulic cyls you can rebuild your self as they all come apart easily.
Unless you need a new rod, they are pretty cheap to rebuild.
