125 Float button
My 125 didn't have a float button when I got it last week. I did some looking around and bought this from my local CC dealer.
http://ihccw.com/IMG_1222_1.JPG I put it in the hole in the lift lever and I still have no float! The new button doesn't reach deep enough into the lever to lock into the rod inside. What am I missing here? Is there another part? |
Float button
That is a press fit button. I use a small socket that rides on the shoulder of the button and drive it in with a wooden mallet or nylon hammer. It will go in pretty far, just take your time.

I've got the button in the hole OK. It still won't lock into the rod inside the lever. Maybe I am not making any sense?
Here is the diagram from Cub Cadet's website. The link doesn't work. I'll figure out how to get it on here. That part that I bought is #4. The problem is that it does not engage the release rod. The rod works. I can lock at any height. It just looks like either there is one more part missing or the button is the wrong part. |

I have a new part #4, but it does not engage part # 1.

Float button
The figure is correct. When the float button is fully seated you must first engage #1 fully then engage #4...keep #4 pressed while slowly letting pressure off #1 with your thumb. You will feel it when the float button locks in. I have had new float buttons that need some coaxing to work but after a few times they are fine.

I guess I have to play with it a little more.
