Tractor won't move, a 1200 with creeper
I was moving trailers around yesterday put tractor in neutral set brake got off to unhook trailer got back on put in gear and no move no noise like something broke, drive shaft is turning I can feel gears raking when moving creeper from high to low. Before I tear into this thing is there anything I should be looking for. THANKS IN ADVANCE CURT

Check the driveshaft for a broken spiral pin.

Thanks for the reply Tim, I can see the shaft turning where it goes into the creeper and can feel gears moving in creeper when I go from low to high but from there on nothing happening. It has new clutch hub and flex disc joint, shaft and clutch all looked good when I had it out 2 weeks ago. CURT

If you're sure the input shaft in the creeper is turning all the time with the drive shaft, and you haven't broken anything in the trans-axle, then you have either broken something in the creeper gear or sheared a pin in the creeper.
OR, there is a pin that goes through the shift lever and through the Yoke (inside the creeper) that pin or the holes it goes through is/are worn badly enough that the handle moves back and forth but it doesn't move the yoke enough to move the shift collar (so it's simply in between Hi and Low). It is also possible that the ears on the yoke are worn badly enough that it will no longer move the shift collar far enough to engage the high or low side. Or it could be a combination of of these things. I would be darn sure that the creeper input shaft is turning like it's supposed to, getting a creeper gear out of a Narrow Frame is a lot of work. |

Can you push the tractor in gear? I had a spiral pin fall out and I had the same symptoms. Driveshaft spun fine, but no go. If I put the tractor in gear I could push it and see the hub shaft spinning inside the hub. I don't have a creeper gear, but my guess is the pin is broke between the creeper and transmission |

But when torque is needed to move tractor, the remains of shear pin can not transfer the torque. |
Thank y'all for the reply's, yes it rolls freely in gear and yes I can see the shaft turning going into the creeper sooo I will be removing the creeper, the bad part is I just had the engine and drive line out to replace the clutch hub,rag joint and engine mounts also changed the oil in the creeper and trans. Does practice make perfect???? CURT

I feel your pain Curt. Between installing solid mounts, replacing the oil pan and the 3 pin driver and clutch I've had mine engine out probably 10 times! I can dang near do it blindfolded! Lol

UPDATE!!!!! I pulled the creeper off this am as I move it forward the grease flowed and I could here chunkies falling into the pan, that was an oh crap moment but it was just the spirol pin in 4 pieces. Now the next question is----can I swap the creeper and clutch drive shaft assy to my 108 and the clutch and drive shaft out of the 108 to the 1200,all reply's have been welcome. CURT
