102 Clutch assy. ????

Hello all. I am in need of the front clutch assembly for my 102. It is the one on the front behind the grille that the belt comes up to. Where would I go about finding this. All help appreciated of course, thanks in advance.

Dave first of all nice tag line you got there! Your local cub dealer or one of the sponsers at the top of the page should be able to get your clutch parts for you no problem.

Are you the "INFAMOUS" Dave Burns with the 67 Buick???

That would be the PTO CLUTCH.....it is rebuildable , got a kit coming myself for about $60....had to order the wear buttons, clutch bearing, and inner coil springs separately... THere are two types out there, make sure you know what style yours is before you order it.......,and welcome to OCC.

TruckTran, BuickDav: Actually there are three(3) types of mechanical IH PTO clutches.

1) The early single bent end tri-spring with NO guide posts.
2) The later style double flat end tri-springs with the guide posts.
3) The later style double flat end tri-springs with the guide posts AND the blade brake which uses a different thrust button.

There are only two rebuild kits. 759-3490 for the single bent end version and 759-3489 for the double flat end version.

The Model 102 came OEM with a Type 1 and will need the 759-3490 kit from your Cub Cadet Dealer (NOT a box store!!)

As you noted, any part not in the kit must be ordered separtely. On type 1 & 2, it's usually just the wear button and the thrust button. On type 3, it's usually a brake part problem.

Thank you for the information. Looks to be just what I needed.

OH yea I forgot. I actually got the ole girl fired today and drove it around. I am quite sure I looked like a moron to the neighbors out in the side yard just runnin around in circles and figure 8's, but thats ok. At least I sat my beer down for the test drive haha.

After that it went directly to the trailer, got soaked up with 2 cans of engine degreaser, sat for a few and cooled, and went to the car wash for heavy duty, long past due pressure bath. Now we're gettin' to where we can start taking it apart for a complete rebuild and paint job.

Oh and I believe the "yet to be determined" tractor is a 70. Just need to look it over close and find some numbers to make sure. Just having toooooo much fun with the first one still. I gotta add on to my garage haha........

Actually I knew that but didn't want to confuse the issue as I figured his mower wouldn't have the brake..right?:bigthink:

I would like to see a pic of that brake style PTO, none of mine have that... I am still learning on the PTO's, haven't quite got my BS in CC PTO 101 yet..... :biggrin2.gif:
