Deck Height Adjuster Rod
 

I have a Cub 1440 with a GT 42"deck. It's my second to own in 36years. Love these lawn tractors! Anyway the 1440 I bought new in 95 and the first time I used it got too close to a tree and broke the deck adjustment arm to where it flopped around and was convenient to move out of the way under similar circumstances while mowing. The inner rod finally broke a week ago and I want to fix it. I have done some checking and it appears parts are not available. Does anyone have experience with this repair? I can do the welding to attach the outer tube back but curious what to use for the inner rod. May have to do a splice.
