Clutch issue
Ok let's first say I've been messing with cadets since 1968. I've owned well over 50 of all different models and I always have done my own work. A few years back I liquidated all my cadets. Recently I picked up a little model 73 and my drive shaft won't stop when it's in neutral.
Here's what I've seen and done.
The clutch plates are clean a flat, the clutch disc looks almost new, the drive plate bearing is clean and greased. The drive plate pins are hardly worn, the teaser spring and throw out bearing are very good and turn freely when not engaged. I drilled a hole in each pressure plate to relieve and air pressure issue.
It seems that it comes down the the anti rattle springs are holding the clutch disc to the drive plate and causing the issue.. Without the springs there is no issue. Without the springs of course I get the rattle of the clutch disc.
Before I pull the entire driveshaft and clutch assembly out any ideas?
Thanks
