Not a collector

I just got my third cub from a fellow member a running but not moving 1978 1200 that needs a lot of work but it came with a deck [needs spindles] a front blade and creeper gear.I wanted something to do while I'm recovering from knee replacement, its to hot to fish so this will give me something to fool around with in the garage. one question the deck is 44 in with 4 wheels not runners all info has painted over could someone help me with a model #thanks!!! It's either a 44A, or a 44C. Basically the only difference is the spindle bearing style. Pretty simple to figure out which it is. Go to cubcadet.com, look up your tractor number, choose "attachments", pick 44A or 44C and look at the pics.

Mower deck

Thanks for the reply J-MECH I looked on cub lookup it shows my tractor should have a 44 A but pic shows skids on front not wheels. In an earlier post INSPECTORRUDY says his is marked 44C and has 4 wheels.I guess I will have to take it apart to see what spindles it has.The deck is in good condition but 3 new spindles might exceed the value. thanks CURT

Kurt, also note that CCC did offer a weld on wheel assm for the older decks to add the wheels at the front. You cut off the skids and welded on the wheel brackets. This could have been done to yours.

44c deck

Well J-MECH after a whole lot of research and reading old posts on 4-25-14 nightow showed pics of his rebuild and on3-19-14 scgtguy showed pics of his deck both had 4 wheels and were 44c decks and looked like mine so mystery solved. Thanks again CURT
