My oops for the day
4 Attachment(s)
I checked the oil before mowing and apparently didn't make sure the dipstick was snapped in the whole way, it was only a half quart low and I caught it pretty fast so I doubt it did any damage.

Oh how I wish I could say I'd never pulled a stunt like that........

Sometimes, you should just keep things a secret.... :biggrin2: Yeah... I've done things like that. |

Reminds me of when my 660 blew the oil pressure gauge sending line while plowing last month, but much worse, that'll make a mess, it'll keep the rust off and lube it.:biggrin2::bigeyes:

Tim,
I am laughing at this moment, after that I am not laughing anymore. |
I done one better. Forgot to put the dipstick back in. Same results.

The only damage I see is to your pride, Tim.:biggrin2: But we have all made mistakes like that before, so you are in good company.:beerchug: Dawn soap will make short work of that mess or you could leave it that way for a Halloween cub....kinda has that creepy look to the side of it.

:crap: Been there done that. First was with Dad's 127. Seems like I had oil splattering with my 2072 once too. :bigthink:

I'll tell one on myself:
Had a 1466 International in the shop once. Was doing quite a bit of work to it. Needed to start it to do something (I don't recall what). One of the guys said we couldn't start it because it didn't have coolant in it.... I was like, pppppbbbtttt..... it's only going to run for a few min, it'll be fine. They, and I, forgot we had the oil cooler off. Do you know how much oil an oil pump in a DT414 will pump when it runs for about 4 seconds? A LOT!! All over the place. Shoots it out pretty far too. It was a mess. |
