Hydro temp.
I was wondering how hot a hydro pump on a 1650 should get. I use it pretty hard. I mow about 3 hours at a time with it and it does have the fan on the drive shaft and it is turned the right way. It does not get to hot to where you cant touch it but it does get warm. :bigthink:

That is a hard question to answer since I have not seen any data on that.
The best you can do is, keep the Aluminum portion (Fin) area clean from dirt & dust. Check you fan periodically to see if it is still there and gripping the drive shaft, The goal here is heat dissipation. |
I have worked on Hydrostats of bigger equipment and as long as you don't stall it out, heat shouldn't be a issue. If it does stall out it will heat up VERY quickly.

I'd say just check that fan periodically. Bothe my 1450 and 149 had the m broken to the hub when I got them. Then I broke the one on my 1450 when something flew into it. They're a pain to replace but it's worth it.

How hard are they to replace? My cub 149's is beat up pretty bad. I probably should replace it also what do they cost.

If you stand behind the tractor you should be able to feel the air from the fan, hold your hand down there and you should be able to. I can on my 129.
