Original clutch issue
Okay, took the clutch apart today. After reassembly after the "face-lift", the clutch/brake peddle would stick. I did not take the clutch apart at the time because it seemed to work fine, but now it does not. Have to pull it up by hand to get it to engage.
So figured I needed to find out what the trouble was/is... For one the drive shaft is grooved, the IH-376259-R1 Bushing, Clutch Release Collar is worn, as well as the IH-376282-R2 Bushing, Clutch Shaft. And they are both NLA. I did order IH-376265-R1 BUSHING, 732-3017 SPRING-COMPRESSION, TC-780007 Washer, Clutch Release Thrust Brg, IH-368372-R91 Bearing, Needle Thrust from my dealer. Clutch drive seems fine. So where can I get the two NLA parts, or is someone making them? I'm going to contact Jeff in PA to check on a drive-shaft. http://s32.postimg.org/92avooumd/IMG_0084.jpg photo uploading websites http://s32.postimg.org/npqjebv9h/IMG_0077.jpg adult image http://s32.postimg.org/4x1cowbnp/IMG_0081.jpg screen cap |
I'd just have Jeff repair the release collar and make an new bushing. Easy-peezy. :biggrin2:
Glad you found the issue! That groove in the shaft will cause it to hang up! |
I can help you out Todd :beerchug:

I purchased the clutch release collar bushing, thrust bearing and races from McMaster Carr. Double check the measurements, but if I recall correctly, it's a 1" id x 1-1/8" od bronze bushing. I ordered it long because I think I had to take an 1/8" off it to make it the correct length.

I already ordered the bearing and clutch release bearing washers from my dealer, not a big deal. As for the clutch release collar bushing I'll see what Jeff has and go from there... |
Todd,
Those worn areas may be the issues concerning the sticky clutch. Good pictures! Hope things are good! Regards, Chris |
