Newbie Q re: LT1210 mower deck wheels
 

A newbie here asking a Q that may make you mower vets smile:

Is the LT 1210 mower deck supposed to be riding on its wheels when you are cutting the grass? (and if so, I've just learned that our previous mower's deck was not set up correctly!) Thank you in advance!

Some people cut grass with the Mower Deck hanging from it's mounts and some people drop the deck down on the deck's gauge wheels. Your personal preference.

I allow the deck to float so it rides on the wheels but as Roland said it's all personal preference.

Roland & Tim, thank you both for your quick reply. I asked this Q because I'm having difficulty adjusting my mower deck's height. IF the deck was supposed to ride on the ground, I could easily adjust the cutting height by using the lower holes for the wheels (they're presently highest point, thus lowering the deck & thus the blades). Since you've stated it's personal preference (AND my wife had a really hard time raising the deck *S*) For now, at least, I'll lower the wheels. Thanks again!
