Coil engine in magnum tractor rewiring
Hello all
I picked up a very clean 1210 with a grenades engine. I also aquired a running coil type engine from a quietline. It fell right into place and started right up with a jumper wire to the coil. Wiring is not my strong suit, but I have searched here and concluded that I need a different switch for a coil. is that correct and if so what switch #? Secondly, the electric pto does not engage when I flip the switch. does anyone have any insight into that? Thanks |
The early 1210's had a coil ignition the later tractors had the Mag12. You'll most likely need to use the ignition switch for an early tractor and may need to do some wiring. Pretty sure Roland can hook you up with the wiring diagram. If you go to the Cub parts site lookup you can check what switch you'll need. Scroll down till you get to the place to enter your model # and enter 1210

I put a k301 in my 1211 it originally had a m12. As for the wiring get with Roland he helped me and I put an ignition switch in from an older cub with a coil. It's not that difficult.
