129 hydraulic lever

I just bought a 129 with hydraulic lift. the lever is loose and not connected on the inside. I pulled the tank so I could look at it and it has a broken hair pin. is that is what is supposed to connect it or something else. I downloaded a parts manual but it dose not show anything like that.

It's supposed to have an 1/8" X 1" spiral pin.
