Will 24x12x12 Tires fit/work OK on 3206?
 

I just recently bought a 3206 that seems to be in pretty good shape, but it has Ag Tires on the rear and I want turf tires.

IIRC Cub put 24x10.5x12 tires on from the factory.

It is a lot easier to find 24x12x12 tires and it seems like they would get better traction.

It looks to me like there should be clearance between fenders/gas tank etc. and the wheels look large enough to me, but...

Any issue with the larger tires on stock rims?

Any one used 24x12x12 tires on their 3000 Series?

I'm pretty sure you can go with the 23 x 10.50 x 12's. I don't know why they used that size on the 3k's.

I don't want to go to a smaller tire.

Do you know if they will clear your tank? There isn't much room on my 3205 and I'm going to need a set in the next year or two. Keep me posted on what you use please. I know this question has come up over on MTF so you may want to check there too.

So no one has tried 24x12x12 tires on a 3000 Series?

I would say most people go with the 23X10.50x12's. More choices in that size.... and it's 1" IN DIAMETER SMALLER. Not a big deal. Not even noticeable. Buy the 24X12x12's if you think that size is better. I don't see why you need to go wider on the same rim. All that will do is balloon the tires in the center.... making them taller. The tread will lay flatter if you stick with the 10.50's. But hey, it's your machine, and your money. :beerchug:

Only a few people on here have the "newer" 3K machines. Oak is one of them. He is our "go to guy" on the 3K series. His advice is very reputable and welcomed here.

If I was sure the 24x12x12 would fit and work well I would not have bothered to ask the question.

I have a 3100 that come with 23" tires and they look puny on the tractor. Very obvious difference to me.

On thing that I have noticed about the 3000 Series is that the mower decks do not lift very high. With 24" Tires it should lift approx. 1/2" higher.

25" would even be preferred, but not too may turf tires 25" diameter/12" rim.
