How to decipher MFG date?
 

Just bought a 1210 this morning, and while I think the serial # indicates that it was built 1986 (2050603U 754074) I have no clue about the MFG date (B096G). Would someone please explain the meaning of that letter/number combination? Thank you in advance!

B= February

09 = ninth day of the month

G= 1987

I would respectfully disagree.

The code I have states this:

B= 2nd month or FEB
09 = Day of Manufacture
6 = Last digit of the year - 1986
G = Manufacturing Plant

Thus, your tractor was made 02/09/86 in Plant G.

Thanks for sharing that info, I guess the info I got on how to decode wasn't the most accurate.

Tractor is a AGS 2130 made from 94-99, according to Tractor Data

My date code is D186G3

So: Apr 18 1996?

Why can't they just stamp the actual date on so us mere mortals can read it without a decoder ring? SMH
