2012 LGT 1054 won't turn over
I have a 2012 cub cadet LGT 1054. Only has about 100 hours on it. Starting late last summer it was harder and harder to start. Now even been with new battery new spark plugs new fuel filter it'll only turnover maybe two fly will turns and then nothing. Turn the key off then back on I'll maybe get another Halfturn. Will not sustain a turnover to fire up. Help! Any suggestions?

Pull the spark plugs and see what happens. If it spins over, then you either have a weak link in the electrical system or if your engine has compression release, it's not working. What kind of warranty did it come with? You might check that before you do much wrench turning.

Warranty expired early last year. Will try pulling the wire today. Hooked my SUV up to jump it last night. Same issue. Two to three turns then nothing

Looks like that tractor had the Kohler Courage engine. This should be the link for the service manual

won't Start
I have a 2004 LT 1018 with a 18.5 HP Briggs and when it is cold out it doesn't want to turn over, I was told by some one on here it may need the valves adjusted, but when it's warm out about 60 deg. it starts right up ?
so i'm not sure what it could be. I've got 5 riding mowers so it's not a big deal for me. Let us know when you get it fixed, Good Luck |
I tried pulling spark plug wire. No change. Maybe temp is effecting. It is 30 degrees. Think solenoid?

Just saw that this has two spark plugs. Removed both and engine spins. Put them back and get a couple rotations. New oil and filter added to list

Did you download the manual that I posted the link for?
Have you checked the connections for the battery to make sure they are good and clean at both the battery and the starter and that the ground cable is has a good connection? Do you have a good fully charged battery? You say it has been getting harder to start since last summer. This leads me to think you have may bad connections or you may have a starter that is on the way out. Do you have experience working on small engines and do you have a test meter to help diagnose electrical issues? |
I did download the manual. Connections look good at the battery. Still have to trace them to check the rest. Battery is brand new and full charge. Not very machanically inclined. I just have basic tools

Maybe it's time to take it to the dealer you bought it from.
