Plowing in February?
Remember that one of my interests is Model railroading, as I made this IH dealership last winter....http://216.157.93.126/forum/showthread.php?t=37325
Lately I've been working on a farm scene. Since my layout is set in lower Ohio during the summer of 1960, I found a company that manufactures HO scale (1/87th) farm equipment, and one of those was a red farm tractor and plow. My wife bought them for me, and I set to build them. Upon further inspection, the red tractor (that came with the driver) has the linkage for the T/A, and although not specifically stated, it has to be a Super MTA. I added the T/A and PTO lever, and fenders. My wife and I both agreed that the operator needed to have "red bibs" so that's how I painted him. The plow was not as much fun as it looks. The tractor/plow are both made of pewter, and it's great because it bends easy, but it's also extremely fragile because it bends easy. The plow is painted as accurate as I saw in pictures; the wheels are actually IH white since I have a quart of it, and the tail wheel is blue because dad's Little Genius has a blue tail wheel and I like the look of it. The tractor/plow is on a simulated harvested wheat field with actual dirt as ground cover, while the corn grows in a field nearby. http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...pswassc8iw.jpg http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...psw7kr1rk9.jpg http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...psfs6a3kbt.jpg http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...psiao81epm.jpg http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...psa7nebb5q.jpg http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...pscmnbpge7.jpg http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...psj7zii76j.jpg http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...psjew1pt5y.jpg http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/y...psrmpszj4u.jpg -continued- |

Looks real nice, you need to find a little O to go with it.

They were made. I have been looking for one in 1/87th scale. Very difficult to locate I'm afraid.

Very nice. Amazing attention to detail.

Very well done. :beerchug:

Very cool! Love the corn field! What is the farmer planning to grow where he's plowing?

Always thought model railroading would be a fun hobby, but I just don't have the patience. Your scene looks very legitimate. Excellent work.
