Deciphering ‘70s Cub Serial #s:
I was wondering if there was a webpage related to what all the digits on a IH Cub serial number plate mean?
The number on my 1450 is: 2050660U585430* I was just wondering what they all meant. Thanks, -Calvin |

The first set of numbers up to the letter "U" is the model ID and the "U" means made in the USA. The numbers following the "U" would be the serial number (production number). I have one with serial number 578371 and from the production chart (which I can't access on the computer, they must have removed it) mine was made Feb 1976. Yours should be right around that time also. Hope this helps. I'll keep looking for the production chart.

Do the serials all have a trailing 0 and an *? This is what threw me off. I saw the list of serials to production years - but mine is one number greater in length.
Thanks, -Calvin |
The IH Serial Numbers (past the "U") are three to six digits. IH started with 501 and the end in 1980 was <700,000

Here is a link to an outside site with the serial number chart by year and month.
