Hyd Lift Valve

Switched out the M18 for a CH18 in the 1862 with a 451 blower, works nice.

What caused the lift valve to want to stay open when lifting the blower? O ring sticking? Internal spring too weak? The one on my mowing tractor does the same thing periodically.

Thanks,

Ike

I have a tractor the valve hangs on, either up or down. I have no idea what the problem is. I just make sure I center it when I get the emplement where I want it. Too much trouble to play Dick Tracy.

im guessing you have a cyclops and when you lift the blower the valve handle stays up? im guessing the handle has sticky pins? i dunno i just assume thats what MINE is doing i just got used to pushing it back and havent messed with it

The lift valve sticks in the up (lift) position. Must be pushed down once the blower is raised.

Thanks Ike

gt83mag

Yes, that is what mine is doing.

Thanks, Ike

Mike,

Mine just does it when lifting the blower.

Thanks,

Ike

I think my Cyclops valve sticks in both directions but I don't remember. The valve is probably just gummed up inside around the O rings.

On my 1541 the plastic valve handle was up against the plastic dash. It was only a problem in the cold. Did a little sanding and everything is fine.

The valve on my ex cyclops 1641 will stick in either position. Its always been like that. The previous owner of that machine said the valve always stuck. I will just say IMO it is poorly designed. Not a one of my 82 series machines with hydraulics stick.
