1650 Won't restart after geting hot...

OK, the used 1650 I bought, then decided to turn into a project got pressed into service tonight due to the oil leak on the 1450. The 1650 (since purchasing it 2 weeks ago) has fired right up every time, but I've not run it for any length of time. Tonight I moved with it for about 1.5 hours. It ran fine the whole time. I drove it back and and parked outside the garage for about 10 minutes. Went back out and it will not start. No click, nothing on the gauge, nada. Any ideas on what might have happened? I'd think that if something wiggled loose I'd have lost power right away...

Thanks for any help,

-Calvin

im no expert by no means, still learning myself. I would try to jump it to see if it would start. If if does, i would run down the charging system, bad ground, stator wire disconnected ect. Good luck and tell us what you find.

I had the same thing happen last year with my 149. After checking out the electrical system, it turns out the solenoid went bad. I jumped the solenoid with a screwdriver and it would turn over. Put on a new one and have had no problems since then. Good luck figuring it out.

Wiggle the PTO switch while you try to start it. Thats a pretty common problem with the quietlines. They get intermitten. I have one that I have to move just a slight amount and it makes contact and it has been like that for years. I call it my security switch.

ANother thing to check is the brake pedal safety switch... My quietline is always having trouble starting hot depending on where I hold the brake. SOmeday I will have time to really look into it between deck rebuilds.
