How much does my rear end weigh she asked?
 

Now before y'all move this to jokes/humor,
I was wondering what might be the approximate weight difference between the IH rear housing and the newer CCC aluminum rear housings?
Say for instance the 82 series, as it had both.
I am curious as a time or two, ppl have mentioned,Alum.is lighter and agreed, just wondered approx. how much??

If I remember correctly it is about 45lbs. difference in wieght

Someone asked this question some time ago and I believe someone else happened to have the two trans-axles that they weighed.

Mcamp may be right with 45 lbs, but I thought the difference was less at about 25 lbs. (my memory isn't what it used to be).

In any event, the difference wan't nearly what I thought it would have been.

Point for mcamp, about 40lbs.
