Rockshaft mod
3 Attachment(s)
When I put the plow on my 1811 last week I discover the lift bracket that is supposed to float was rusted solid to the shaft, after 3 hours of beating the rockshaft it finally came apart. I cleaned the shaft up with a fiber pad on the grinder and used some 220 grit emery cloth on a long rod with a slot cut in the end to clean up the internals on the other pieces. I never want to have this issue again so I put grease fittings in the lift bracket so it can be serviced, it worked out pretty good because I had fittings here with 1/8 pipe thread and the hole in the lift bracket was already the right size for the 1/8 pipe tap. I went ahead and did both sides and once they were in and tight I used a die grinder to take care of the extra that was hanging out into the center hole. Once it was on the tractor both fittings are able to be reached with a grease gun, hopefully that's the last time I ever have to work on it.
